Join us for a farm tour and community potluck to celebrate the debut of Growing Tomorrow: Behind the Scenes with 18 Extraordinary Sustainable Farmers Who Are Changing the Way We Eat. What better way is there to celebrate Forrest Pritchard’s new book, than by enjoying a meal together on the farm? The event begins at 3pm with a tour of the farm. Be prepared for a 3-4 mile walking tour of the farm by bringing sturdy shoes and a water bottle. You’ll get to see the animals, talk with our staff and show your family where their food grows. After the tour we’ll return to the gardens behind Smithfield Farm Bed & Breakfast to sit down to a traditional potluck. Smith Meadows will provide our grilled grass-fed hamburgers & hot dogs, freshly-brewed herbal ice tea, lemonade, water and paper goods & cutlery.

Tickets are $25, and include an advance copy of the book!

To reserve your spot, please purchase one of the following tickets (Salad, Side-dish or Dessert, below) that will indicate what potluck dish you are to bring. Each ticket ensures entry for one adult and up to three children under 18. The purchase of each adult ticket also gets you one copy of GROWING TOMORROW. With 50 recipes, the book makes a great gift for the cook or gardener in your life. Forrest will happily sign each book with a personal dedication.

will be available on Farm Day to disperse books to ticket holders.

My husband and I would like to attend Farm Day. We are 2 senior adults. What would the cost be?

    1. Forrest Pritchard

The cost is $25 each, which is actually just the cost of the new book (you will receive one book for each ticket)! In other words, Farm Day is free for the purchase price of Growing Tomorrow… A great deal, we hope! 🙂

We would love to attend an bring family friends. However, I can’t imagine what to do with four books per family (Two adults and two children in each family). It would be great if we were to get one book per family and pay separately for the food for the rest of the family members.

    1. Forrest Pritchard

Kids are free! Sorry for any confusion, it would be 2 tickets/books for the adults, no charge for children.

My husband and I would like to come. We only want 1 book. Do we have to buy 2 tickets for $25 each?

    1. Forrest Pritchard

Hi Gay, yes, each adult ticket is $25 (kids are free). This helps us cover the costs of the event. Naturally you don’t have to take a second book, but because they are a $25 cover price, this is the best value option for our wonderful customers 🙂

While it’s understandable not every family needs 2 books, with the holidays around the corner they DO make a great gift for the cook or gardener in your life, or you can also donate it to your local library. Hope to see you on the 25th, and many thanks!

I’m trying to sign up for Farm Day. I put in all my information but got stuck on signing the square agreement. Please help. I signed up for 2 people under Gay Rogers. Will the books be mailed before Farm Day. I want Forrest to sign them.

    1. Forrest Pritchard

We will figure this out ASAP, sorry for the trouble! The books will be distributed at Farm Day by our local bookstore Winchester Book Gallery, and Forrest will sign them then.

If you get an extra book you don’t need, you’ve got a great holiday gift ready to go!

So we are a bit rainy today. Is the event rain or shine?
